THERAPY FOR EATING, EXERCISE, AND BODY IMAGE CONCERNS

Does your relationship with food, exercise, or your body just feel so incredibly hard? Maybe you feel out of control around food, restrict your eating, or food occupies all of your thoughts? Maybe exercise is something you struggle to do at all or feel that you can’t stop? Maybe you hate your body and the way that you feel about it stops you living your life?

I hope to help you find a sense of calm in your relationship to food, exercise, and your body. One in which you can nurture and care for yourself in a way that feels good and aligns with your values.

I can help with…

  • Eating disorders (Binge eating disorder, anorexia and “atypical” anorexia, bulimia, other eating disorders [OSFED]).

  • Orthorexia

  • Disordered eating,

  • The non-diet approach and stopping years of yo-yo dieting

  • Emotional and stress-related eating

  • Compulsive/dysfunctional exercise and exercise avoidance

  • Concerns related to weight stigma

  • Body image difficulties

  • Eating, exercise, and body image concerns during the perinatal period

WHAT’S IT LIKE WORKING WITH ME?

I approach all therapy from a trauma-informed, size-inclusive, and non-diet perspective.

Our work together will focus on developing a deep understanding about your relationship with eating, exercise, and your body and what is keeping you stuck.

We’ll likely explore:

  • how you are (or are not) currently nourishing and nurturing your body and practical ways to make this better;

  • what meaning eating, exercise, and bodies hold for you and where this comes from;

  • childhood experiences that have impacted how you view yourself, others, and the world around you;

  • diet culture and the objectification of bodies;

  • your values and what matters to you in life;

  • the awesome, amazing, brilliant things about you;

  • Lots more!
