Hi! I’m jodie (she/her)
I’m a clinical psychologist and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician with a background in clinical exercise physiology. I approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, authenticity, and, when appropriate, a bit of humour. I highly value people’s lived experience and believe this must be considered as a part of evidence-based treatment. Your story will always be heard and held with care.
Using a trauma-informed lens, I view people’s difficulties as an understandable response to life experiences (including societal issues), rather than a pathology or disorder. I am neurodiversity affirming, inclusive to LGBTQA+ and BIPOC folks, welcoming to all bodies, and culturally aware; I actively invite you to talk about how these aspects of your identity influence your life experiences and the therapy process.
In therapy, I draw on the concept that compassion is both turning towards suffering and a commitment to do something about it. This means I will hold space for you, validate, and deeply care, whilst also gently challenging and working with you to make changes that matter to you.
